[texts]Thinned Concentric Circular Array Antennas Synthesis using Improved Particle Swarm Optimization - Durbadal Mandal, Debanjali Sadhu and Sakti Prasad Ghoshal
Circular antenna array has gained immense popularity in the field of communications nowadays. It has proved to be a better alternative over other types of antenna array configuration due to its all-azimuth scan capability, and a beam pattern which can be kept invariant. This paper is basically concerned with the thinning of a large multiple concentric circular ring arrays of uniformly excited isotropic antennas based on Improved Particle Swarm Optimization (IPSO) method...

[texts]Benchmark Solution For The Category 3, Problem 2: Cascade - Gust Interaction - Envia, Edman
The benchmark solution for the cascade-gust interaction problem is computed using a linearized Euler code called LINFLUX. The inherently three-dimensional code is run in the thin-annulus limit to compute the two-dimensional cascade response. The calculations are carried out in the frequency-domain and the unsteady response at each of the gust s three frequency component is computed. The results are presented on modal basis for pressure perturbations (i.e., acoustic modes) as well as velocity per...

[texts]JPL encapsulation task - Willis, P
A detailed summary of the diverse encapsulation materials and techniques that evolved to meet the cost goals of the Flat-plate Solar Array (FSA) Project is presented. A typical solar cell now consists of low iron glass, two layers of ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) polymers, a porous space, primers/adhesives, a back cover of Tedlar, and a gasket/seal for a volume cost of 1.30/sq ft. This compares well with the project goal of 1.40/sq ft.

The recently developed essentially fourth-order or higher low dissipative shock-capturing scheme of Yee, Sandham and Djomehri (1999) aimed at minimizing nu- merical dissipations for high speed compressible viscous flows containing shocks, shears and turbulence. To detect non smooth behavior and control the amount of numerical dissipation to be added, Yee et al. employed an artificial compression method (ACM) of Harten (1978) but utilize it in an entirely different context than Harten originally ...

We study the numerical propagation of waves through future null infinity in a conformally compactified spacetime. We exploit this freedom to ensure that all light cones are tilted outward in a region near null infinity, which allows us to impose excision-style boundary conditions in our finite difference code...

By comparing with the observational constraints, which may be considered as fairly conservative, it is found that, for an exponentially decreasing st...
